The release date for Wizardry 8 was November 15, 2001.
Earlier official reports were as far off the mark as 'The legend returns Fall 1998'. The original software developer, Sir-Tech, went bankrupt in October 1998. Since then, development of the game was transferred Sirtech Canada, a separate company. Although the game was completed in December 2000, a publisher and distributor for the game were never established. Buka Entertainment released the Russian version of Wizardry 8, and Electronics Boutique released it in the USA (they had excluside sale rights for the first month).
